It's ill how much of a type I have, when it comes to men. Painful, really.

Same aesthetic. Tall and lanky, expressive eyebrows, long face, defined jaw, perfect chins, eyes that pierce, wild hair, that same cocky look, rebellious, voices that melt...
How typical of me! Granted, Robert Pattinson is my latest obsession - once I heard he was taking on the role of Edward Cullen - the fictional epitome of male perfection - my heart literally leapt out of my chest. November can't come fast enough.
(still trying to figure out where Scott Bakula fits in - perhaps my attraction to overly intelligent, scientific men - Hayden was Anakin - who, let's face it - lived rebellion and was a brilliant Jedi, Rob playing Edward - again, male perfection - intelligent, controlled, calculating and against what his world said he should be, and my darling husband - who in his own way is rebellious - politically and far too intelligent for his own good).

So, what it comes down to is: I'm additced to rebellious geeks. Hot, tall, rebellious geeks.

The Hills, Fall Fashion and a new AA tee.

I've spent the day with the first round of the September issues. The September issues are the biggest and best issues of the year. And fall fashion is the best fashion season of the year. On top of spending the day neck deep in the best of the best of fall fashion, MTV is running Hills behind the scenes marathons. Ma
What more could a California Dreamin' girl want?

A few shots of today - me (ON bermudas, AA tri-blend deep-v tee), and my mags, laptop and Hills on the in background. <3
Mags are: Lucky, Elle, Glamour & Ocean.
I also picked up a copy of Twilight today - yeah, I know I'm about 3 years behind on this stuff - but I've resisted for too long. Im just about all prepped for Vegas - outfits picked out, purchases made, all that needs to be done is pack the bags!

This time, next week

I'll be driving to Las Vegas to see my best friend get married.
I can't wait! I better find some waterproof mascara, because I am SO going to need it!
I do have a few other projects I'm itching to tell you about, but I have my hands tied for now. Which sucks, because they are SO EXCITING!
All in due time I suppose.

Liane and I have known each other for almost 11 years. We were instantly drawn to each other - us creative types. We met in Mrs. Burr's art/drama class. I was the new kid, she was the established high school celebrity. Knew everyone, everyone loved her. She welcomed me quickly, and before we knew it, it was giggling in the halls, putting on Oscar-worthy performances on the drama room stage and audtioning for every role that could have been offered.
The event that solidified our friendship, and took it to that next level was the school production of Romeo & Juliet. Initially I had auditioned to do a singing role - having approximately 4 solos during the performance, as well as runner backstage. I was heartbroken when after accepting the roles and practicing for weeks, I was told that the show had gone from a 2 hour production, to a 2.5 hour, and that was too long. My solos were cut. I had, however, still retained my status as a runner and backstage hand.
I think I need to backtrack here a bit too - the weeks leading up to the production, Liane and I, along with a handful of other artist and school creative types lived this production, and that included set design and creation. It was during that time, leaning over the plywood, applying fresh coats of paint, that I knew that this was a girl that would be in my life forever.
Okay, back to the production. While my solos had gone away, I had remained on as an alternate in the event someone fell ill. I attended all of the rehersals with her and my classmates. Our bond grew. The final hours of class before the first manitee production brought interesting news - obne of the castmembers had taken ill. And the night before opening night - I was stepping in for 4 different roles.
Panic didnt quite cover it.
But there was Liane, stepping up to the plate. She offered to run lines with me. And we did. All night. I went on the next morning. I know for sure if it hadn't been for her help, I would have never been able to get out that opening line:

Gregory, oh my word, we'll not carry coals.

The production was just the beginning of our amazing friendship. It lasted through everything - heartbreak (and subsequent chick flick and cookie dough consumption), tragedy, the highest highs and the lowest lows. An amazing and beautiful miracle and start of her family, right down to today, where she is taking the next step to making her life complete.
It always has been an honor to have Liane in my life. Someone I love so much, that to call her anything less than my sister simply wouldn't do. And it fills my heart to see her find her soul's counterpart in Neil, another person who has always been a rock for anyone who knew him.
I am so proud to be here for this moment, the moment in which our Juliet has married her Romeo.

Hiking up north

Saturday was a much needed rest-day. It was spent with Husband, the MythTV Box & Scott Bakula circa 1989. (Quantum Leap is my new-old favourite show. Who knew Quantum Physicists could be so HOT!)
Sunday, we decided to actually do something. We packed up in the morning, had breakfast with the family and drove up to the NE AZ, E of Payson, and went hiking along the rim, and then over to Woods Canyon Lake. I had never been there before, and it was so beautiful. Took some pictures, hung out with the man and the pup, had great conversations and came back feeling like a million bucks.

Back to the grind now, have a few projects I'm working on.

Friday Flower Post & Life Updates

It's Friday, and Ness and I went to my local florist to see what was in... nice arrangements this week!

This week's haul contains: 3 calla lillies, 4 roses, 1 dahlia, 1 stargazer lily & 2 white oriental lillies.

Had a great day - finally got Ness & Franci together for lunch over Olive Garden (the commerical is right! People make friends at the OG!) and then we hung out and talked, watched Enchanted (Im making everyone watch it lately, it seems) and Ness and I went to the florist to pick out these beauties.

In other news, Phoenix Fashion Week planning is fully underway. It's exciting.. we're less than 60 days out now, and it's really culminating. I'm totally on Fashion Week Diet - getting really tough on myself, but it'll be good :) I'll have 4 red carpet events, so I'll need 4 different looks. I have one down (I think!) and 3 more to go!

I'm leaving for LAS VEGAS two weeks from today, and while I'm there, I plan on stopping by the MAGIC conference. I can't wait! And the shopping. FEAR FOR THE STORES!

My littlest sister in law is signing up to be an Ambassador for PFW, and she's so excited. She wants to be an event coordinator, and this will give her some awesome on the job trainning. I'm so proud of her taking this step.. Fashion Week could be a great jumping off point for her career!

As far as what I've been up to.. I've just been getting in some jobs, slowly, and spending time with friends/family. They went neglected too long! Nick and I are having date night, as per usual for Friday nights. We're going to the Drive-In. We're living it up like it's 1967! Haha, should be fun and nice to do something different.
