Today was the luckiest day! First off, a reporter from the Tempe Republic contacted me this morning, and is going to be running a story on OTC this Friday!
And then... I get a call from the local KIIS station saying I won 4 VIP tickets to the VIP Sex&TheCity Party on Friday! I was on the radio & everything!

I'm walking on stars!

Be Likeable, Excited and Enthusiastic

I have met some really talented people who I would never want to work with, simply because I didn’t really like them. The people who are going to hire you are … well, people. And like any other people, they are going to like someone who is nice, friendly, warm, interested in them and interested in their project.

It’s often the little things that make a big difference in this area. Cyan likes to tell a story about a photographer she knows who takes cups of coffee with him to photo shoots for his clients, and has noted that a few times this has been the deciding factor in winning him future jobs. A friendly tone in emails, a genuine interest in people, enthusiasm about work, it all helps!

Unintentionally Theatrical

I never realize that I do this, although I'm sure I do it more than I think I do, now that I've noticed. I tend to set myself up in situations that are right out of movies. And not the big, dramatic moments, the moments that are in the films that help define a character.
Okay, okay, for example:
I'm working on a PR project for a photographer, with a cup of Earl Grey, in a t-shirt, jeans and Chucks, with a rainstorm going on outside and the window cracked just enough to hear the sound of the rain over my quiet but oh-so-there Coldplay streaming from my speakers, at just about 2 in the afternoon.
Is it just me, or is that somewhat theatrical?
I believe so, and I believe that all that this is proof of is that I watch farrrr to many romantic comedies in which the leading lady is career obsessed and kinda boring (notice the lack of vodka in above mentioned tea), and that she feels all creative when it rains.Replace my Tempe suburbia with LA or NYC, and I might even have the beginnings of a plot.
