PEACE OUT!
I know, I know. Apologies are futile at this point when it comes to my lack of blogging. I have been spending a lot of my time with Nick and focusing on work. I've got a few freelance options going on right now, and basically live in front of a computer. I have my work review on Friday, and I'll be spending tonight prepping for it, once I'm done at the gym.
A few things have changed since my last post. I've taken a 8-5 temp office job, and I've left About. I know, I know. But things weren't working out. The money was shit, and they were demanding things that I just wasn't able (financially and morally) willing to do. I thought I would be upset, but I'm really not. I'm actually kind of relieved. Maybe now, writing about fash/beauty will be enjoyable again. It became something that was forced, and un-natural... but I plan on taking my work over to West48, and sprucing it up, and reviving it. I'm actually really excited about it.
I'm in talks with a local magazine for a position there, so I'm really excited about that. The temp job I'm working is to sort of fill the gap between my last job, and either the job I'm interviewing for, or a part time retail gig, so I can go back to school. I know the obvious is Journalism for me.. and trust me, it has its appeal... but there's something about Apparel Merchandising that really gets me going. I think I'm going to go that route. But I'm sure things will change a million times between now and the end of December.
Speaking of December, Nick and I have booked our second Disney trip this year.. We'll be there Dec 4 -9. 6 days, and you can bet on it that I will be stopping at the outlets to pick up insanely priced designer goods. Likely just bags and shoes I'm sure... but oh my, when you see a DIOR outlet, you MUST stop. It's just about a law.
Yesterday, Nick turned 28. We're less than a month away from our 7 year anniversary... married 6 years in January. Isn't it scary how quickly time passes? I took him out to our mainstay, Monti's and we eat and just had a lovely evening. We actually dressed up.. he did the delicious jeans/tee/blazer combo (omfgdroolyum) and I went with a strapless black dress with a lace overlay on the skirt and strappy black heels. Anyway, we had a good time.
I'm sure there are a bunch of things I'm leaving out, but I'm going to end here... I have the day off from work, and Nick and I are taking the pup up north for the day.. Friday isn't as nuts as the weekend, so we're taking advantage. Off!
PS - Welcome back, Gem!
