I never realize that I do this, although I'm sure I do it more than I think I do, now that I've noticed. I tend to set myself up in situations that are right out of movies. And not the big, dramatic moments, the moments that are in the films that help define a character.
Okay, okay, for example:
I'm working on a PR project for a photographer, with a cup of Earl Grey, in a t-shirt, jeans and Chucks, with a rainstorm going on outside and the window cracked just enough to hear the sound of the rain over my quiet but oh-so-there Coldplay streaming from my speakers, at just about 2 in the afternoon.
Is it just me, or is that somewhat theatrical?
I believe so, and I believe that all that this is proof of is that I watch farrrr to many romantic comedies in which the leading lady is career obsessed and kinda boring (notice the lack of vodka in above mentioned tea), and that she feels all creative when it rains.Replace my Tempe suburbia with LA or NYC, and I might even have the beginnings of a plot.
You know that moment that hits you, all of a sudden when you don't expect it to? You know, the moment you realize you're OLD?
Yeah.
Sitting at home, tired at 630pm, watching CNN to find out who is going to win the primaries in New Hampshire kinda makes constitutes old, doesn't it?
I suppose sitting here chatting with a friend of mine about how long I've been married (a week away from 7 years) and her (2) kids doesn't help either ;)
I feel better today. I mean, mostly. Everything I felt yesterday is still true, but at least I've attempted to give myself a new start.. a small role in an indie movie, helping with a screenplay, my interest in photography is back and I have an idea for a photo shoot (non fashion related, maybe), and I'm agressively hunting for a job with a future.
Retail isn't a job with a future.
Wish me luck!
In other news, Harley and I went to the park today, and proud momma took some pics with the phone:
I wish my life was interesting enough to update more. It was, for a breif while, but it's back to being ho-hum. I wonder if that's a good thing. We're going to the Renaissance Festival on Sunday, very stoked about that. Hanging out with the bitchin' Ry&Di - which is always a good time.
I'm going to the Phoenix Star Wars meeting on Saturday, don't know how that will go, but hopefully it will be cool.
I'm still working on my project, in fact, it's pretty much all I do - to the point where Nick is telling me I need to leave the house - I'm becoming weird.
HE'S telling ME I'M weird.
Uhh, right.
So I kind of have been. Work sucks, but that's the norm. Keeping my options open ... for, well, anything that's better than what I have.I bought some purple nail polish - that purple that's so dark, it's bordering on black?Nick hates it, I think it's hot.
I'm really sorry.. all of my intelligent speech/verbage is being drained by the "project".
Maybe this one will actually work? Maybe THIS TIME, I won't fail and fall on my ass.
Remember when I was a super talented and well known writer?
Oh how far and fast we fall :(
