LA VIE EST BELLE, YO!
This weekend I...
1. Drank a ton of cosmopolitans
2. Went bar hopping (Hello, haven't done that in YEARS)
3. Was told "Honey, do you know where you are?" by a bartender after ordering a cosmo in an Irish pub.
4. Got hit on by white boys (!!!)
5. Watched all 3 Back to the Futures
6. May or may NOT have sang the Enchanted theme song out loud
7. Played Bennie and the Jets in an Irish Pub and danced&sang like a chubby Katherine Heigl
8. Wore something relatively conservative out partying! (wtf!me!)
9. Had an amazing time with some amazing girls.
10. Was totally the Charlotte.
Today I...
1. Was on the radio in Montreal
2. Listened to the Habs kick ass and wrap up the series
3. Had a Manicure
4. Really, really missed living in Montreal
5. Received a gift from Favourite Client from Italy
6. Wore a dress
7. Met with my personal trainer
8. Felt really, really good about my design skills.
9. Designed some new business cards for Franci and I
10. Loved life, OTC, friends et al.
Fin.
1. Spending the evening talking work with amazing women in amazing fields. My dear friend Erica invited me to a "Women in Design" networking group tonight and I met women from all different aspect of business, and the common thread was design and a desire to move forward. How refreshing!
2. My business cards. They were a great conversation starter. Remind me to post a picture of them, they are such a cute way to break the ice!
3. Going to a new restaurant. There are so many here in the Valley, it's lovely!
4. Chai. It's freezing out, and nothing warms you up like a steaming cup of Starbuck's Chai tea.
5. Busy days. I can't believe it's 20 to 9 already. I have been up/out since 8am and I didn't even feel the time go by!
Web design is the creation of digital environments that facilitate and encourage human activity; reflect or adapt to individual voices and content; and change gracefully over time while always retaining their identity.
I love when the boss is gone. I get to catch up on some emails, talk to the girls, shop online.. sigh, it's just so nice. So, this weekend was a great, typical Phoenix weekend. It consisted of video games and bbq with the boy on Saturday, a badass "get my hotness on" workout Sunday morning, a swim in the pool, a historical museum and a nice lunch with a good friend.
God, when life is good... it's really good.
So this week is looking to be pretty tame. Going to spend a good amount of time at the gym, have some drinks Friday night. I picked some new skirts at ON, let me know what you think! I'll post pics me in them when I get them in :)
Okay, off to work.. a little bit ;)

TO. DIE. FOR.
Need $2000, right now, kthx!
The past few days have given me nothing less than a full schedule, packed with training, marketing, planning for ads, painfully attempting to schedule a meeting with my programmer/analyst, planning, and stressing. My Montreal trip had to be moved around and moved up so many times, it's ridiculous. I just can't wait to go and be away from the office for a bit (and, of course, what I mean by "away and out of the office" is, naturally, working on my laptop on the table of my mother's kitchen so that the day I come back there isn't a meltdown.
On that note, I am getting a new laptop. I'm going for a smaller than 14.1' screen, small and light as possible. I have no options for financing, so I'm selling my current notebook to put money towards my next one. I leave for Montreal on Friday, July 20th, so that means, essentially in the next 21 days, there will be a MAJOR crackdown on spending. The only items I plan to acquire are my laptop and sleeve for it. I have an order in for clothes (on the CC, get now, deal with payments later - BAD NEWS, as always) for Nick and I, so we're good on that front, thankfully.
I have a bunch of emails sitting in my inbox to answer, and I will try to get to them as quickly as I can. I just thought a quick update of what's been going on might satisfy the curiosity as to my lack of communication recently.
This week ends on a sad note here in the office, the departure of 2 of my co-workers, one off to travel the world, and one off to start a family. My world traveler isn't going to be returning, and she is such a source of positive energy, losing her will be a loss to the whole office. On the other note, her going out and doing everything she's ever dreamed of makes me happy. The other is due for her first baby -a boy - on the second of July. She's my partner in crime. 40 business days without her will be horrible, but I can't wait for her to come back. By the end of the summer, the office will look so different, but in a good way - fresh blood, fresh outtakes on life, and me in a new position, with someone else manning the front desk.
Ch-ch-changes!
Apologies for the lack of updates lately. I know you all were getting used to 8 updates a day while I've had free time. Thankfully, the work trolley is doing 85 in a 65 and I'm on board. It's great. I've officially been given the title of Web
Producer for our new book, and my boss hinted today that I'd be producing all of the web component of the business, including our two other domestic consumer books and the UK consumer one.
Can I get a HELL YEAH!?!
In related news, my prelimenary designs for the department pages has been approved and is already in development. It's so amazing to see all of these pages I've designed in PSP come to life and be part of something huge and viable. It's everything I wanted for W48, but in another industry. Which you would think would bother me, but the fashion industry here just isn't for me. I know that's where I built the bulk of my career, and don't get me wrong, I've met some amazing people along the way, but it's passed. The future looks bright, and more financially sound.
In other news, have been working out a lot and eating crap to compensate. Montreal in less than 5 weeks, very stoked. Still in love with Daughtry. Pff who? . Still missing BFF. Sister has convinced me "it's time for you to get a tattoo." Evidentally, I don't get to make my own decisions about my body anymore ;)
Also, lately I've been in love with all this MAC and have seriously considered going broke to have a 13inch sexy beast MacBook. Since the decision to go into debt more than scares me out of my mind, I have been Apple-ifying my work computer.
MACIFY!
Safari for Windows :: MAC theme for Firefox :: AppleMail for Thunderbird
*Note to those MACIFYING : If you're running a version of Thunderbird NEWER than 1.5.0, you WILL have to modify the RDF file to reflect the version change.
ETA: I've already gotten one "WTF is a web producer? Is that like a programmer?" No, HERE is a good description of what I do.
